Government Digital Media Platform Governance Regulations

The Government of National Unity issued regulations governing all government entities' use of digital media platforms and official social media accounts. The decision establishes comprehensive rules for account management, content publication standards, data protection, and information security across all government digital presence.

Companies providing digital services, social media management, cybersecurity, or content moderation to Libyan government entities must align offerings with these new governance standards. Foreign firms already contracted with government ministries or agencies should review existing service agreements for compliance with the new publication policies, data protection requirements, and account ownership provisions.
